“Amortentia is the most powerful love potion in the world. It is distinctive for its mother-of-pearl sheen, and steam rises from the potion in spirals. Amortentia smells different to each person, according to what attracts them.”
You, Michelle and Harry were grouped together to work on the Amortentia potion. Each of you were told to smell it and describe the scents you picked up. Michelle was up first. She stepped up to the cauldron and took a whiff of the love potion. It took her a while to process the different scents she was smelling but when she did, a light blush started forming on her cheeks. “Let me guess…you smell hair gel, musky cologne and green apples?” you raised your eyebrows whilst asking her in a teasing manner. “Mhmm” she replies all flustered, cheeks as red as ever. “Oh c’mon, Michelle. Malfoy? Seriously?” Harry asks unimpressed knowing his best friend has feelings for his “enemy”. “I can’t help it! He’s just so-” before she could even finish her sentence, Harry cut her off. “GAH! I don’t wanna hear it!” he yelled as he covered his ears. That little outburst of his got you and Michelle dying of laughter, Professor Slughorn had to shush you both. “Ha ha, very funny” Harry says sarcastically as you both try to recollect yourselves. “Go on, Trish. You’re up next!” Michelle says with excitement.
As you were stepping up to the cauldron, for some reason you felt a knot in your stomach. You had no idea what to expect and you were nervous. You slowly inched closer toward the potion and took a small whiff of it. The scents you smelled were oddly familiar but you couldn’t put your finger on what it was, who it was. “So…what do you smell?” Michelle asks. “Huh, that’s weird. I smell new parchment, freshly mown grass, spearmint toothpaste and…chocolate frogs” you reply with a confused look on your face. You watched as both their jaws dropped, looking at you with utter disbelief. “What?” you asked. They didn’t reply. “What?!” you repeated yourself with concern. “Don’t you realize who you just described?!” Michelle asks. “Uh…no?” you reply, genuinely puzzled. “You just described Ron, you dummy!” Harry loud-whispered as he hit your shoulder lightly. It took you a while to process what he said but when you did, your eyes widened in shock. “No way! RON?!” you yelled out. You didn’t mean to shout out loud but before you knew it, everyone’s eyes were on you, including Ron’s. “Uh, h-how’s your potion coming along?” spitting out the first thing that came to your mind. “Well I’m not exactly done yet, I haven’t sniffed anything” he replies casually, shrugging his shoulders. “Oh okay!” you reply, awkwardly holding a thumbs up. Not even an ounce of suspicion. Ron was clueless and for once, you were grateful he was. Not long after that embarrassment, everyone went back to what they were doing. “I can’t believe I like Ron…” you whispered to your friends. “Well I guess it was bound to happen eventually, Trish” Michelle replied. “Yeah, you guys have such a special bond. Weird…but special!” Harry chimed in enthusiastically. “If it makes you feel any better, I think you guys would be really great together” Harry reassured. “Yeah, definitely! You guys would make the cutest couple!” Michelle joined in with glee. “I don’t know you guys…I love what we have right now and I don’t wanna ruin our friendship. Besides, he’s head over heels for Lavender” you say defeated. “Hey, you don’t know that for sure” comforted Michelle, draping her hand over your shoulder and giving it a small squeeze. “Let’s just see what he smells from the Amortentia after class” Harry says with hopeful smile as he lightly bumped his shoulder with yours.
You were already seated at the great hall with Michelle, Harry and Ron. Hermione wasn’t there yet so you decided to save her a seat. She probably stayed after class to ask Professor Slughorn a question or two. As you and your friends were munching away on some Cornish pasty, Hermione marches in the dining hall with enthusiasm. She takes a seat directly across to you, grinning widely. “Dean likes you!” she squealed, making you choke on your food. “Huh?!” you asked in confusion. You and your friends were staring at Hermione waiting for an explanation. “Earlier in class, I was paired with Dean and the scents he mentioned described you perfectly!” she said excitedly as her eyes lit up. Unconsciously, your cheeks turn a bright pink. “Eep! You’re blushing!” Michelle points out. “You sure he was describing Tricia, Mione?” Ron asks in annoyance. “You could be wrong, you know” he added. “No, you git! I’m positive he was describing Tricia. After he mentioned the scents he even stared at her for a while” Hermione responded. Ron’s reaction made your heart sink. Did he really find you that repulsive? “There’s no way Dean described Tricia” Ron spoke as he aggressively stabs his pasty. At this point, you were annoyed. “That’s really nice of you to say, Ron” you replied with a sarcastic smile. “What? I’m just saying, out of all people why would he like you?!” he asked, raising his voice. “Do you really think I’m THAT revolting that you find it so hard to believe someone could actually like me?!” you harshly replied, tears streaming down your cheeks. He didn’t think you would cry, hell, he wasn’t thinking at all. His faced showed instant regret as he sat there, frozen. Staring at you completely speechless. Your friends were silent and tension in the air was thick. You couldn’t stand being in Ron’s presence any longer so you stormed out the dining hall as you try to hold your tears in. Almost immediately, Michelle stood up and ran after you, giving Ron a last scowl before she left the table. Hermione looked at Ron and shook her head in disappointment before leaving the table to go find you. “Nice going, you idiot” Harry says sarcastically as he hits the back of Ron’s head. Ron didn’t react. He just sat there, staring into the distance, not a single thought in mind.
The great hall was packed. Everyone was stuffing their faces with shepherd’s pie and baked beans just talking amongst themselves, the usual. You were sitting with your group of friends at the Gryffindor table. Hermione was going on about her “bad grade” in potions class. She got an 8.5 out of 10 and she’s complaining while you and the rest of your friends got 5′s and 6′s, hell, Ron even got a 3 and he couldn’t care less! Five minutes into Hermione’s rant session, you started to zoned out. Unconsciously, your mind immediately went to him. Cedric Diggory. You’ve always had a small crush on him but ever since the new school year, you couldn’t get him out of your head. He had always been an attractive boy but after the summer holiday, he returned a man. He got taller and more handsome, as if that’s even possible.
“Your boyfriend’s here, Chelle” your best friend, Tricia, said in a singsong voice. Still thinking about Cedric, you didn’t hear her. “Hello…earth to Michelle?” she repeats herself as she waves her hand over your face. You snap out of your trance and find yourself being stared at by the rest of your friends. “You okay, Michelle?” Harry asks in concern. “Uh yeah, sorry, I kinda zoned out for a minute there. What’d you say?” you ask Tricia. “Look who’s here” gesturing her head towards Cedric. With just a single look, you start to feel your cheeks heat up. “Oooh someone’s in love with Diggory” Hermione adds. At this point all your friends began teasing you when dumb ole Ron decided to join in. To be fair, the great hall was roaring so he decided to speak louder. “BET DIGGORY’S A GOOD SNOGGER, HUH, CHELLE” he shouted and with that the whole hall went quiet. The silence was deafening. Everyone stopped what they were doing and turned their heads towards your table. You and your friends froze as all eyes were on you. Some people started laughing, some started pointing and some even gave you dirty looks as they whispered to one another. At this point, your cheeks were turning the same shade as Ron’s hair. You wanted to disappear right then and there but you definitely wanted to kill Ron first before anything else. Instinctively, Hermione and Tricia hit Ron in the arms simultaneously. T’was a bad day for him to be sandwiched in between them. You couldn’t get yourself to put your head up but when you eventually did, the first pair of eyes you meet are none other than Cedric’s. The eye contact caught him off guard as if he’s been staring at you the whole time but after a few seconds, his flustered expression softened up and he formed a cute little smile. That smile put your stomach in knots. But as much as your shy self wanted to look away, you found yourself smiling back at him.
After lunch, you, Tricia and Ron head out to Transfiguration class. When you arrived, annoying Draco Malfoy was there, all ready to worsen your day. “Well if it isn’t Cedric’s girlfriend” teasing you as he made obnoxious kissy noises. “I’m not in the bloody mood, Malfoy. Go pester somebody else for change” you snap. “But you’re my favorite person to pester” Draco replies with a sarcastic pout. Tricia immediately stepped in front of you and told him off. “Sod off, Malfoy!” And with that he rolled his eyes and walked back to his minions. You sat down in your regular seat next to Tricia. Not long after Cedric took a seat next to you, which was unusual since he usually sits in front of the class. Knowing he was next to you, you fought the urge to look over his direction to save yourself from even more embarrassment.
“Class, I want you to partner off with the opposite gender and work on the beetle button spell together” your professor said. You and Tricia gave each other a sad look knowing you can’t work together. She asked if you wanted to be partnered with Ron and you declined because you had enough of that daft redhead for today. From the corner of your eye, you felt Cedric walking towards your table. “Hey Michelle, uh you got a partner yet?” he asks with a shy smile. “Oh hi Cedric…nope not yet” you reply trying your best to make eye contact as you felt your cheeks heat up. “Do you maybe want to be with me? I-I mean not be with me but my partner. I mean would you want to-“ he began to ramble but before he could finish you cut him off with a simple “Yes, Cedric. I’d love to be your partner”. He was taken a back by your response but he was grateful you helped him out a bit. For the rest of the class, you both worked on the spell together. Sharing laughs and exchanging personal details about each other. You two hit it off so well for his personality perfectly matched yours. Time flew by and before you know it class was already over, for once you wish this class would never come to an end. You can’t help but wonder if this thing with Cedric would continue or if it was just a one time thing. As you started to gather your things, Cedric pulls you to the side. “Hey, I had such a good time in class today all thanks to you. I-I was wondering if you’d wanna go to Hogsmeade with me after school later? It’s okay if you say no though, I totally get it” he says as he looks down shyly. “I’d love to! Pick me up at 7?” you ask as you touch his hand. He looks up with a pleased grin as you walk past him, brushing his shoulders with a flirtatious smile plastered on your face.
Maybe Ron’s stupid antics could actually result in something good for once.
Just real quick I would like to say, please don’t be rude to people who enjoy a movie but have not read the book that it is based on, it’s mean. Not everyone likes reading and just because you have read said book does not make you better then someone who hasn’t. That is all.
i had a dream the other night where hogwarts houses were determined with hair colour
like, blondes went into hufflepuff, redheads went to gryffindor, brunettes were ravenclaw and black hair meant slytherin
and as a result like everybody was a ravenclaw or slytherin, there were like twenty hufflepuffs and gryffindors combines and everyone else was one of the other two
